We are here to bridge the gap between startups and the film industry, injecting innovation to let you be more efficient, sustainable and creative
Introduction
The Film and Multimedia Accelerator is for you if you are developing a technology-based product for the film, media, entertainment or creative industries.
Your solution can be related to AI, audio, video, media, advertising, content creation, production or any other creative field. It does not have to be designed specifically for the film industry.
Over six months, we help you better understand your customer and market, validate your product with real users, and define a clear value proposition and business model. We work with you on marketing, sales and storytelling, finance and legal matters, and help you prepare for raising investment.
Through Tehnopol and IDA Hub, you gain access to industry companies, potential customers, partners and investors. These connections give you opportunities to validate your solution in the real market and can lead to collaborations and pilot projects.
Our goal is to help you bring your product to market faster.
After completing the six-month programme, you can continue in the ScaleUp growth programme, which focuses on growth, raising investment and entering international markets.
Participation in the programme is free of charge, and Tehnopol receives a 2% equity option. This means our interests are aligned: as you grow, we grow together.

The activities of the Tehnopol Film & Multimedia Accelerator are funded by the European Union.

The Film and Multimedia Accelerator is part of the IDA Hub Film and Multimedia Innovation Centre founded by IVEK, IVIA, and Tehnopol. This unique innovation centre has been set up to support the development of film talents and future innovators, helping to revitalise and diversify the economy of Ida-Viru County. The solutions created by the accelerated companies will bring innovation to both the region and the wider film industry.
Participation in the programme is classified as de minimis aid for the company receiving it under the European Commission Regulation (EU) No 2023/2831, which applies to de minimis aid under Articles 107 and 108 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (OJ L 2023/2831, 15.12.2023), as in Article 3.
The company applying must have remaining de minimis aid and must not be in difficulty as defined in Article 2, point 18 of Commission Regulation (EU) No 651/2014 (18).
Film and Multimedia Accelerator offers you

- a 7-part practical training programme covering your company’s value proposition, business model, sales, marketing and storytelling, finance and legal matters
- knowledge and tools to validate your product and market and reach your first or next paying customers

- support in preparing for investment and communicating with investors
- a workspace at the Tehnopol office in Tallinn or at the Film & Multimedia Accelerator’s office at IDA Hub in Jõhvi
- free cloud credits and other work-related tools from our partners
- the opportunity to continue in the ScaleUp growth programme, which focuses on raising investment and expanding into international markets
After completing the accelerator
- you have a better understanding of who your customer is, what problem you are solving and why they should pay for your solution
- you have tested your product with real customers and received feedback from the market
- you have a clearer value proposition and business model and know how to sell and market your product
- you can clearly communicate your company’s story to customers, partners and investors
- you have worked through your company’s financial and legal matters
- you are better prepared for raising investment and communicating with investors
- you have expanded your network of industry companies, mentors, partners and investors
- you become part of Tehnopol’s accelerator alumni community and can access opportunities and benefits available to portfolio companies
To join the programme, you must have
- a scalable technology-based product or solution
- a motivated team of at least two people who are ready to actively work on developing the company
- an MVP or working prototype to further develop and validate with customers
- the ambition and drive to take your idea to the world
- a company registered in Estonia

PRE-ACCELERATOR
You are welcome to join the Tehnopol’s Film and Multimedia Pre-Accelerator at if you have an exciting idea in the film or multimedia sector and are just starting your entrepreneurial journey.
