Film and multimedia tech hackathon

This year, a 48-hour hackathon took place on September 12–13 at kood/Jõhvi (Tartu põik 5, Jõhvi). Over 70 participants took part, forming 16 different teams.

The winning team will receive a prize of €2000. Additionally, the best teams will have the opportunity to join the Tehnopol Startup Incubator’s Film and Multimedia Accelerator program, where they will be supported in developing, validating, and bringing their solutions to the market.

Hackathon
September 12–13

The film and multimedia sector is developing rapidly, but one of the biggest obstacles remains the gap between creativity and technology. Many creative professionals are not aware of how technological tools could enhance, scale, or even completely redefine their work.

The aim of the hackathon is to bridge this gap — providing knowledge and practical experience on how to apply technology creatively. We also help participants understand the basics of entrepreneurship and startups: how a startup differs from a traditional business and where to begin when turning an idea into reality.

Industry-specific knowledge from creative professionals is often the key to developing innovative solutions. Our goal is to bring together creative thinkers and technology developers so that the next generation of solutions can emerge from these collaborations.

We invite people from the film, multimedia, and advertising industries to the hackathon to map real-world problems and gather valuable insights directly from the industry.

We are also looking for technology enthusiasts, programmers, software developers, and designers to work together on finding smart technological solutions to the sector’s biggest challenges.

And if you have strong business acumen, sales skills, or a desire to test yourself in the startup world, you are very welcome too!
